At the beginning of the new year, good news came frequently. The "Yuzhou Shijia" 160 meter unlimited navigation area heavy cargo deck transport ship, which was fully invested by Hainan Yuzhou International Shipping Co., Ltd. and manufactured by China Shipbuilding 712 Research Institute of Power Systems, and equipped with the first domestically produced set of 3MW pods, completed a 14 day navigation test and successfully returned to the Yangtze River wharf, entering the next stage of work.

Recently, Jiangsu Jiuzhou Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. completed a 14 day navigation test on the 160 meter unlimited navigation area heavy cargo deck transport ship "Yuzhou Shijia" built for Hainan Yuzhou International Shipping Co., Ltd., and successfully returned to the Yangtze River wharf, entering the next stage of work.

The "Yuzhou Shijia" vessel was fully invested and built by Hainan Yuzhou International Shipping Co., Ltd., designed by Shanghai Runji Shipbuilding Design Co., Ltd., and manufactured by the Power System of China Shipbuilding 712 Research Institute. It is equipped with the first domestically produced set of 3MW pods. The ship has a total length of 160 meters, a molded width of 42 meters, a molded depth of 9.58 meters, a designed displacement of 31187.8 tons, a designed speed of 12.5 knots, and the ability to cross the Arctic in summer. It is classified by China Classification Society (CCS).

The ship adopts full electric drive, equipped with DP-2 power positioning system, equipped with bow thrusters, and two sets of 3-megawatt pod type full rotation electric thrusters at the stern. It is independently developed by the 712 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and is currently the largest domestically produced pod thruster. It can rotate horizontally within 360 degrees to achieve vector propulsion, providing excellent maneuverability and wave resistance when transporting heavy cargo, We have achieved a technological breakthrough in the field of high-power pod thrusters in China.

712 Institute provides power system integration solutions and 3MW series electric propulsion system equipment, including domestically produced pod thrusters, for the "Yuzhou Shijia" vessel, breaking through the power form barriers of traditional large cargo transport ships, improving the dynamic construction ability of ships, enhancing the overall efficiency and positioning accuracy of ships.

This navigation test conducted comprehensive testing on the pod products, accumulating a large amount of test data and engineering experience, laying a solid foundation for subsequent product optimization and iterative upgrades.
